GETAWAY.IE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - FAQs
We have compiled a fairly comprehensive list of questions we expect you to ask about using Getaway.ie in advance.
Please have a browse through here as it will more than likely have the answer you are looking for so you don’t have to wait for us to come back to you if you’ve contacted us with the same query.
We expect to be busy so searching here first is a good way of finding what you’re looking for before you contact us.

Simply click on the picture of the deal you’d like to purchase.
You will see a blue tab scroll up on the image that says ‘View offer’.
Once you click on the image or ‘View Offer’ another page with the details of the deal will load.
Read the details of the deal carefully.
Once you’re happy select click on the ‘Choose an Option’ drop down menu and select the number of nights you want: 1 Night or 2 Nights.
Then select how many of these deals you would like to buy using the ‘+’ sign. This is set as 1 as a default.
When you’re ready to purchase click the ‘Buy’ button.
The deal is added to your cart and a little symbol ‘1’ or ‘2’ will appear beside the Shopping Bag symbol in the top right of your screen.
Click on the Shopping Bag symbol.
You then have two options: ‘View Cart’ and ‘Checkout’
View Cart
If you want to review your deals then click on ‘View Cart’.
If you want to change or amend your deals then you can do that here.
You can also add a Coupon code (from a competition or a promotion) here.
If you’re happy to proceed then click the ‘Proceed to Checkout’ button.
Checkout
If you’re happy to go straight to checkout then click on the blue ‘Checkout’
You will need to register or login using your registration details here.
Registration is essential so we can attached the voucher or deal purchased to your account.
It will also mean you get weekly ideas about adventurous getaways that we’ve put together for you.
You can simply do this by filling in the form and then checking the box beside the ‘Create an Account?’ question. You will be asked to add a password if you select this option.

Payment Details
Getaway.ie uses Stripe to process our online payments. Stripe is a remarkable success story set up by two brothers from Limerick, the Collisons.
It is a fully integrated, secure, global payment platform used by thousands of businesses worldwide.
Getaway.ie does not have access to your credit card or payment details nor do we store any of these details.
These are encrypted by the Stripe platform on processing and a unique code called a token is generated to identify the transaction on the Stripe system.
Place Order
Once you register or log in, you can fill in the billing details on the right hand side panel and payment details on the left hand panel and then click the button called ‘Place Order’.
Additional Information
In this box you can put in any special requests you have for your order. This is not special requests for the hotel or accommodation. You will have to tell hotel this when you use the voucher to book accommodation with them. We will of course pass it on to them but since we won’t know what dates you are booking, you will have to let them know yourself.
Order Received – Getaway
Once you have done all the necessary steps above, entered your payment details and placed your order, you will be presented with a screen that says ‘Order Received – Getaway’.
This means your transaction is complete and you will automatically receive an email giving you a breakdown of your purchase and the transaction.
Attached to the email is your Getaway Voucher.
THIS IS AN IMPORTANT EMAIL!
It contains details of the deal you just purchased and instructions on how you go about REDEEMING the voucher.
You can now use this voucher to avail of the unbelievable discounted deal the Getaway Team have secured for you from the hotel of your choice.
Make sure you call the hotel DIRECTLY using the VOUCHER CODE to book your accommodation.
Their contact details will be printed on the voucher. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE VOUCHER.
Getaway.ie DOES NOT book accommodation for you and you can’t do it on our site. You MUST call the Hotel operator separately, tell them you have a Getaway Voucher and you would like to book accommodation. They then will assist you. This is also the time to put in any special requests.
Once you have done all the necessary steps above, entered your payment details and placed your order, you will be presented with a screen that says ‘Order Received – Getaway’.
This means your transaction is complete and YOU WILL AUTOMATICALLY RECEIVE AN EMAIL giving you a breakdown of your purchase and the transaction.
Attached to the email is your Getaway Voucher.

It contains details of the deal you just purchased and instructions on how you go about REDEEMING the voucher.
If you believe you have been charged but the purchased deal does not appear in your account, please contact our Customer Service with the following information:
• The date the purchase was made
• The name of the deal you purchased
• The amount charged to your credit card
• The last four digits on the credit card that has been charged
We accept payment via Credit or Debit Card. Getaway.ie uses Stripe to process our online payments. worldwide. Getaway.ie does not have access to your credit card or payment details nor do we store any of these details.

An email confirmation receipt will be sent to your the email address linked to your account once your purchase is confirmed as successful. This will outline the purchase, and the expenditure involved.
Your Getaway credit will be visible in the payment section of the checkout page. Simply select the ‘Use My Credits’ box for the credit amount to be deducted from your total balance. You can also check your Getaway credit in your ‘My Account’ section under Credits’
To redeem a promo code, you will need to add the code into the ‘Promotion Code’ field, located below billing details field at the checkout. Once successfully added, the discounted amount will be deducted from the total price.
You may be booking for a group or an extended family and want to purchase more than one deal. If that’s the case then after you have clicked on the relevant deal or offer underneath the ‘Choose an Option’ drop down menu is an option to select how many deals you want to purchase.
Click on the ‘+’ sign to get the number you want or simply type the number into the box.
This is set as 1 as a default.
Please remember that depending on what time you are making the booking, some deals will have a limit or be near there offer end so you may not get the number you want. If you purchase early in the deal window then you should be ok but as the deals sell, less become available. Each voucher will have their own unique redemption code.
To purchase as a gift, purchase using the normal process. Once your payment is complete, you can print or email the voucher to a friend or family member, as your name will not be on the voucher. Vouchers are fully transferable, unless the terms of a specific deal state otherwise. Vouchers have to be used in full on booking the accommodation. If a voucher has expired, it cannot be used by anyone.

Each deal will have different requirements for redemption depending on the different hotel operator or vendor you purchase the voucher from. These will be outlined clearly and simply in the description of the deal on the offer page or on your voucher and will give specific instructions on how to redeem your deal.
Most of our Getaway Partners will require bookings in advance and will ask you to provide your voucher number/s when the booking is made. In most cases, you will also need to take your printout along with you at the time of redemption. Alternatively, some venue owners are happy to view your voucher on your smartphone. Getaway recommends checking this in advance with the vendor before you arrive. Like all trips a bit of forward planning makes life a lot smoother. If in doubt, call. The contact details will be clearly printed on the voucher. We would also recommend checking with the vendor when you make your booking using your Getaway voucher for any extra requirements they or you may have.

After signing in, click on the ‘My Account’ link in the top right menu
Choose ‘My Orders’ tab from the drop-down menu
Click the ‘View Voucher’ button next to your chosen purchase or you can access it by clicking on this button

Vendor contact information is available on your voucher, which is accessible in ‘My Orders’ section of your account. Our vendors can get busy and may have a high number of customer queries when you call so please be patient with them and leave a message. But do contact us here if there are any problems.
As per the details of each individual voucher, all bookings are subject to availability. It’s always best to contact the vendor ahead of time to see if a booking is available on your desired date and time. If you are unable to attain a specific date, always check with the vendor to see if they have any other bookings which may be suitable for you.
Vouchers are fully transferable, unless the terms of a specific deal state otherwise. Unless you have used part of your voucher, you can give it to a friend or family member. If you have partially used a voucher, you cannot give it away and must redeem it fully yourself. If a voucher has expired, it cannot be used by anyone.
Voucher redemption after expiry is done at the discretion of the vendor or Getaway partner. In most cases, our vendors strictly adhere to the validity terms of the voucher and often are not able to extend past the validity date. It is important to book in advance to secure your chosen date and time. The expiry date of each offer is clearly stated in the ‘My Orders’ section of the offer page and on the voucher. While we can assist you in securing a booking if required, it is your responsibility to ensure you redeem your voucher within the specified validity period.
Getaway will make every attempt to work out a solution for you but would strongly encourage you to make your booking with the vendor as soon as possible.
When you select ‘View Voucher’ in your account, you will notice a code near the top of the page, next to the QR code. You will need to quote this Voucher Code when making a booking.
Your voucher’s redemption information will confirm if you will need to present your voucher upon arrival. Often vendors will accept the voucher on your smartphone so please check the vendor instructions on the actual voucher.
You must contact the hotel operator on the contact details on the voucher who will assist you on availability.
Getaway.ie do not have access to the availability calendars of the hotel operators so cannot tell you what dates are available.
If you need to change your personal details, please email Customer Support on talk@getaway.ie with your current details and the changes you’d like to make. It’s important to include the email address used for your account so we can identify the correct account.
If your password doesn’t work, you can reset it by clicking on the ‘Forgot Password’ link under the Log In box. You should receive an email within a couple of minutes with a link to reset your password. If you don’t receive an email, your email account may be blocking our emails, and the password reset email may be in your spam folder. If it is, please add us as a safe sender.

Our vouchers are fully transferrable, so you are able to exchange these with friends or family members. We are unable to provide an exchange for another voucher however, so please ensure you read the fine print before purchasing a deal.
Once you have signed in, you can change your email preferences by selecting ‘Email Preferences’ within the ‘My Account’ section. On this page you can tell us what emails you would like to receive, and how often you would like to receive them. Once updated press the ‘Save Changes’ button. Or you can access it by clicking on this link.
