Description
Doolin has had a living musical heritage for many decades. Music, singing, dancing and storytelling have always formed the fabric of the community.
Doolin is internationally renowned for its music with many famous names and faces playing here over the years. This is thanks to the earlier generations of musicians from the area. Most famous of these perhaps is the Russell brothers Micho, Gussie and Pakie. Musicians and visitors alike have made Doolin what it is today – a great place to have a few tunes!
Hotel Doolin has fast become a music mainstay in the village and is dedicated to bringing the finest traditional music sessions and live music to Doolin from local, national and international musicians and singers.
Live trad sessions are played nightly in high season in Fitz’s Bar and Friday to Monday night in winter months. Come and meet the locals and join in on one of their sessions. Let the traditional music carry you away, your feet will tap to the beat and your voice will sing along with excitement, qualities that traditional music brings out in all of us.
Monday night in Fitz’s bar has become a very special night of music. The Wild Atlantic Session is an intimate music session led by renowned musicians Eoin O’Neill, Quintan Cooper and Jon O’Connell.
They are joined by a host of special guest musicians and singers including the great Luka Bloom who joins them most Monday nights. It is a night of great tunes and a special vibe-from 9.30pm.
